Breast Cancer- Decision making under uncertainty

Prof. Sandra Chapman CPhys FInstP FRAS
Director of the Centre for Fusion, Space and Astrophysics University of Warwick

The lifetime risk of breast cancer in women is about one in seven. Sandra Chapman has recently twice survived primary breast cancer. In this talk she blends her own experience with a review of the relevant medical literature and data which informs breast cancer monitoring and treatment decisions. As well as providing an insight into the experience of cancer treatment, this provides a worked example of how risk can be estimated in challenging data, how this risk can be presented, and parameterized to aid decision making.
